With more than 15 years of experience in adult health and social care, 8 of those managing residential, dementia and nursing homes, I am dedicated to providing high-quality, safe, person-centred care. I am motivated most by my passion for dementia care and the chance to enhance the well-being of residents, and to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and safe.
I have worked in the care sector in nursing and residential care homes for over 30 years. I started as a care assistant in 1987 and went on to qualify as an administrator. I worked in a nursing home for over 26 years, had a spell of retirement, but missed working in care so much that I went back. I started at The Old Vicarage this year, I think it is a lovely, friendly home, and I will be here until I finally retire.
I’m Sam and I have worked at the Old Vic for 10 years now! Caring for residents is my favourite part of the job and what keeps me coming back every day! I love getting to know our residents and being part of their daily lives, helping them feel happy, comfortable and supported. The Old Vic feels like one big family, and it’s a privilege to work alongside such a caring and supportive team.
